Bruno Mars named best songwriter of 2010

Bruno Mars has been named the most successful songwriter of the last 12 months.

The singer and his songwriting partners - collectively known as The Smeezingtons - were awarded the title of Biggest Songwriters of 2010 by Music Week.

The team, which also includes Ari Levine and Philip Lawrence, have written tracks including Mars's first two chart-topping singles 'Just The Way You Are' and 'Grenade', as well as Cee Lo Green's 'Fuck You', B.o.B's 'Nothing On You' and Travie McCoy's 'Billionaire'.

The second most successful producers were Norwegian duo Stargate, who penned Rihanna's 'Only Girl (In The World)' and 'What's My Name?', as well as Katy Perry's 'Firework'.

Other songwriters who featured on the list include Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am, US rockers Journey and Biffy Clyro.
