In an interview with Rolling Stone, the band said that their fourth full-length release is tentatively named Angles.
Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr said that the name was chosen because the record "comes from five different people."
Hammond's bandmate Nick Valensi added that recording Angles took so long because the band were working in a different way. Unlike previous records, which were mainly written by lead singer Julian Casablancas, the band wrote material together for the first time.
"The vision was everyone's - we all contributed ideas - but the genesis of the songs was [Casablancas']," Valensi said.
"This is the first one where we are truly working democratically. It's taken a long time because this is a new model for us."
Angles is due for release on March 22 in the US. The UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
