'E.T' is the fourth cut lifted from her sophomore album Teenage Dream, and is slated for release in February.
Perry unveiled the single artwork - which appears on the right - via her Facebook fan page yesterday.
She wrote: "Here's a sneak peek of the artwork for 'E.T.', the next single off Teenage Dream! Stay tuned for a new music video and remixes coming soon.
The track's promo clip is rumoured to have been shot by Floria Sigismondi, who has directed videos for Marilyn Manson, Bjork and Christina Aguilera, while Tinie Tempah features on a UK remix of the song.
Perry is performing at this year's Grammy Awards on February 13.
