The band, who were previously rumoured to be in talks about a possible slot, reportedly signed a contract this week to top Saturday's Pyramid Stage line-up.
It will mark the band's first set at the festival since 2005. Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones are said to have turned down an offer from event organiser Michael Eavis.
A source said: "Getting the Stones to Glastonbury has been high on Michael Eavis's list of priorities for a long time. He came really really close this time round.
"He came up with an incredibly tempting offer and Mick [Jagger] and the rest of the band were considering it closely but they ultimately decided to turn it down."
