Gary Moore, aged 58, was found dead earlier today at a hotel on the Costa del Sol.
The musician joined Thin Lizzy back in 1973, replacing departing guitarist Eric Bell, and played with the band on and off throughout the rest of their career.
"I am in total shock," Moore's Thin Lizzy bandmate Brian Downey told The Sun. "He will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I just can't believe he is gone."
Moore's cause of death is currently unknown.
