The singer has worked with two of Buffalo Springfield's members, Neil Young and Stephen Stills, in various groups since the 1960s.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Crosby insisted that Stills is looking forward to reforming the legendary band.
"I think he is excited," he said. "And I've got to tell you, I didn't get to see them live, but I watched clips and [Buffalo Springfield singer] Richie [Furay] - I got to tell you, man, he is so happy onstage and is such a joyful energy."
Two of Buffalo Springfield's members, Bruce Palmer and Dewey Martin, died in the last decade, but the three remaining original members reunited for the first time at Young's annual Bridge School Benefit concert last fall.
Crosby ultimately credits Furay with inspiring both Stills and Young to reform the group for a full-scale tour, which he says will take place later this year.
He explained: "He really sparked that thing, and I think it was a very pleasant experience for Neil and Stephen both… I know they're going to go out for at least some dates in the fall. Personally, I'd like to go watch. They're one of my favourite bands."
The original line-up of Buffalo Springfield only recorded three studio albums together, before splitting in 1968.
