The singer gave a well received performance of her new single 'Someone Like You' at the ceremony in London's O2 Arena. Speaking on the ITV2 after show, Adele explained why she had welled up.
"I was really emotional by the end because I'm quite overwhelmed by everything anyway, and then I had a vision of my ex, of him watching me at home and he's going to be laughing at me because he knows I'm crying because of him, with him thinking, 'Yep, she's still wrapped around my finger'," she said. "Then everyone stood up, so I was overwhelmed."
Adele went on to reveal that she had not had time to let the success of her second album 21 sink in.
"They [her record label] sent me off to America on the day my album went number one and I've only just got back," she said.
