The 'What The Hell' star revealed details of her encounter with Aguilera during an interview on the ITV2 Brit Awards afterparty show.
Will Young - who presented an award alongside Lavigne - commented on Boy George being a fan of the Canadian singer, prompting her to comment: "He was super nice, unlike Christina Aguilera, who was really mean to me when I said hi to her."
She continued: "You know what, I said to my friends, 'I'm gonna go over to Boy George and hopefully he won't pull a Christina on me.'"
Pressed for details about the incident, she added: "We're labelmates, and I presumed as we also have the same manager... I remember going over - and I'm a very shy and introverted person - and introducing myself and saying, 'Hi, we kinda do the same thing,' but I just kind of got - ," before mocking a false laugh that she had received in return from Aguilera.
On meeting Boy George, she told host Dave Berry: "He knew who I was and I was like, 'Oh my God!'"
