The French first lady's new version of Charles Trenet's 'Sweet France' is to feature sections sung in both French and the singer's native Italian, her agent told Le Parisien.
'Sweet France', an ode to the country's rural regions, became widely popular upon its initial release in 1943 at the height of the German Occupation.
It has not yet been decided if the track will feature on the singer's next LP, which is to include several songs written by Bruni-Sarkozy, according to Midi-Libre.
Bruni-Sarkozy has so far released three albums, all of which have hit the top spot of France's pop chart.
The star will appear in Woody Allen's next film Midnight In Paris, which is to open the 64th Cannes Film Festival.
