Having revealed that the band are close to finishing their new album, the 'Californication' star has stated that the working title is 'Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head'.
Kiedis told Spin that the title is inspired by an acid trip a friend of his once had, saying: "He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips and told us that he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number one hit was, well, that title."
The American singer also revealed that their sound has taken on "a whole new dynamic" following the departure of guitarist John Frusciante in December 2009.
The band topped the UK and US charts with their last album Stadium Arcadium in 2006.
