JLS's Oritsé Williams has admitted that he is "happy" that the group have received a nomination for 'Worst Band' at the NME Awards.

The 'Eyes Wide Shut' singers are nominated for the title alongside the Jonas Brothers, 30 Seconds To Mars, Kings of Leon and Tokio Hotel.

"I'm actually happy that we made it in," the singer told the Daily Record. "Whether it's for a good thing or a bad thing, we've been recognised."

However, Williams confessed that he is not pleased that the group's charity work had been ignored.

"To be totally honest, I was disappointed that NME would even put us up for that award because we've brought something really significant to music," he said. "We also do a lot of charity work. So if NME think JLS are the worst band for all the good we're trying to do, I'd have to question them."

The group failed to win the same award at the bash last year.

The NME Awards will be handed out at a ceremony in London's O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday.
