According to the Vancouver Sun, the unnamed station referred to Fisher's move as "a betrayal to our community" and refused to play Underwood's songs even though they do not normally air country music.
"I heard about it right away and Carrie heard about it and she was extremely disappointed and frustrated - I think they meant it as a joke that really wasn't funny," Fisher said.
"They're not a country music station and I don't know if it was for attention or not, but obviously Carrie had nothing to do with the move or the trade or anything, so to imply something like that was just wrong."
However, Fisher adds that he is aware of the difficulties which come along with Underwood's celebrity and has learned to take them in his stride.
"Stuff happens and I'm learning that with all the attention that's paid to her - because of who she is - to not worry about those things that are not true," he explained.
"It's what you have to do. It's the life we're a part of now and obviously there's a lot of good things that go with it, too."
