The band will headline the opening night of the Donington Park event, joining Saturday night headliners System of a Down and Linkin Park, who will close proceedings on Sunday.
The Sheffield five-piece previously topped the bill at the festival in 2009.
Download takes place between June 10 and June 12. Tickets are on sale now.
