Earlier this month, Noel claimed that he had not yet laid down any tracks for his post-Oasis record, despite Miles Kane earlier saying that he had contributed to a song.
Asked about his former bandmate's release, Liam told XFM: "I reckon he's written it, man. He's probably going down that Radiohead thing - it's probably out already or something!
"He's definitely written it - he's been writing it for ages, he's been in the studio for ages. So I don't know what he's talking about. I'll be interested to hear it, see if I'm on it... in the background somewhere."
Liam then claimed that other ex-Oasis stars and his current Beady Eye partners Andy Bell and Gem Archer would feature on Noel's release, saying: "These two are on it!"
Archer responded: "We'll see, won't we? It was weird... Noel's a top songwriter, so when you're hearing whatever he was coming up with anyway... well, that's that. But now, it's all brand new I suppose."
