The group split up when the singer and his brother Noel fell out in August 2009.
He said in an interview with Absolute Radio: "You've got to laugh at it sometimes, you know? I know it means a lot to people, but bands that I liked when I was young split up, you know what I mean? So I understand the pain and that, but you've got to move on.
"No-one's dead, there's other things going on in the world. But it's just me and Noel being d**ks isn't it, and we've got to grow up, I suppose."
Since Oasis, Noel has taken a break from music to care for his new son Sonny with partner Sara MacDonald, while Liam regrouped with the other ex-Oasis members to form new group Beady Eye.
The group released their debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding today and Liam said that he is looking forward to touring with bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
He commented: "We can't wait to go and play it live. I mean, you take Beady Eye out of the way and that, and there's not much else going on in the music business, I think."
The full interview with Liam broadcasts tomorrow on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show.
