The 'Human' star has flown to London to start work on the record while the band take a break.
More details have yet to come about the album, but Vannucci has revealed why he chose to record the LP in the UK.
"The people I trust the most with music, some of those people are here," he told BBC 6music.
"From the very first moment [The Killers] were here it solidified a bond that's undeniable. It's familiar now; it's comforting.
"I felt a connection here personally and I feel most at home."
The drummer also revealed that he would be joining The Killers for a few shows this year.
