Barker: 'Finishing new LP was a struggle'

In 2008, the Blink 182 musician was severely injured in a plane crash that killed four others.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Barker insisted that he had to work through a series of physical and emotional setbacks while recording the record.
"Honestly, I never thought the album would be finished," he said.
The star continued: "For a while after my accident, I was just recovering. No-one really thought I would be able to play drums after all the surgeries and everything.
"That was always on my mind. Once I was in the studio, it was like, 'I can walk now, I can play the drums still. I have to finish this'."
Among the traumas that he says he had to process was the physical pain he suffered from undergoing 16 surgeries following the crash.
"It was sketchy, so I came a long way. And mentally I was a basket case," he explained. "It was a big amount of time to get off of 20 medications that they had me on, and then physically getting in shape. It was heavy."
Barker's first solo release Give The Drummer Some, which features collaborations with Tom Morello and Drake, debuts on March 15.
