The producer explained that he wanted to inject an energetic sound into the track and recording process, so called on Barker to supply the drums.
"I'm really excited ... I did two songs on her album, and one of the songs I did, I brought in Travis Barker, and it's got this rock feel which is out of the box, out of my norm, and I think it's out of her norm as well," he told MTV. "We had a great time making this record."
When asked about the song in question Jerkins responded: "[It's] classic Britney Spears, uptempo heavy, of course. It's new and different."
The collaboration is thought to have happened "about a month ago".
The producer also praised Spears saying: "She's great. She gets it. She is a top-notch veteran pro at this now."
The artwork for the American singer's next single ''Til The World Ends' was unveiled earlier.
Spears' seventh studio album Femme Fatale is due out March 29.
