The 'Viva La Vida' band are to join Black Eyed Peas and Foo Fighters, also headlining on Friday and Saturday respectively.
The event is due to take place at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas on July 8 to 10.
Other acts confirmed to perform include Paolo Nutini, Tinie Tempah and Bruno Mars.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
Coldplay recently revealed that they will not be performing any new material at any of their festival appearances this summer.
