The 'Here With Me' singer, who is expecting her first child with husband Rohan, told The AP that parenthood will always take precedence over her professional aspirations.
"There's a real calmness about it which I think is really nice. Your decisions are sort of made for you," she said. "You just have this priority that is unchangeable and I think that's a great calmness that comes from that."
Dido further explained that the tranquility she's experiencing in her personal life has informed the tracks on her fourth studio album, which is expected to be released later in the year.
She added: "It's been a thoroughly enjoyable record. It's a real mix and in a funny sort of way - some sort of big electronic extravaganza. It's much more electronic than the last record."
The Ivor Novello Award winner has notched four UK top ten hits since debuting her first solo single 'Thank You' in 2000.
