Lambert recently tweeted that he has been working with OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder on the album, and claimed that he is taking his music in a slightly different direction for his second release.
"I think if anything it might be a little less campy than that last one," Lambert told The Hollywood Reporter regarding the changes. "I think evolution is good and I'm attracted to the slightly more serious.
"I'm very drawn to music and artists that are singing from the heart about real things," Lambert added, explaining that For Your Entertainment had been something of a concept album for him.
Lambert returned to American Idol this week for a performance of the song 'Aftermath', which he is releasing in order to raise money for the Trevor Project, a charity helping LGBTQ teenagers.
