The residency will include six intimate shows for audiences of 1,800 at Campfield Market Hall. They are to be her first UK dates in over three years.
Björk is due to introduce Biophilia at the event, which has been described as an exciting and ambitious multi-media project that encompasses music, apps, internet, installations and live shows.
The project will explore how sound works in nature and will delve into subject matters that explore the infinite expanse of the universe. Music and apps relating to the project will be available to download before the event.
Björk will also debut new material from her forthcoming Biophilia studio album as well as a select number of hits from her back catalogue.
Dates the singer will be performing on have been revealed as June 30 and July 3, 7, 10, 13 and 16.
