In an interview with CNN to promote the new film The Lincoln Lawyer, the 'Marry For Money' musician revealed that he's tried to convince his teenage daughter that Bieber doesn't tackle real-life issues in his songs.
"[I ask her] 'Honey, what's he singing about?'" he said. "He's not singing anything really that deep anyway. And I know because I've heard about all of that stuff."
Adkins then insisted that he'd prefer his daughter to listen to children's entertainer Barney the Purple Dinosaur rather than the 'Baby' singer.
The former Celebrity Apprentice runner-up added: "She's 13 so she doesn't like Barney anymore, but I'd rather her listen to Barney [than Bieber]."
Yesterday, it was reported that Bieber's rumoured girlfriend Selena Gomez refused to divulge details of their relationship during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.
The Lincoln Lawyer is now playing in US and UK cinemas.
