The Beatles famously revealed that they used to write new material when on the Reeperbahn street in Hamburg's St. Pauli district, visiting adult theatres and lap-dancing establishments.
Speaking of their recent visit to the city, Glasvegas bassist Paul Donoghue told the Daily Record: "The Reeperbahn is probably the best place in the world to compare us to - very shiny and exciting but with a seediness to it.
"The show was in a tiny little venue, Molotow, and it gave us the chance to play an intimate show, which we haven't done in ages.
"Two guys standing in front of me were narrowly missed by a flailing Rickenbacker bass during the set."
Speaking of the band's new drummer Jonna Löfgren, who replaced Caroline McKay after she quit last year, Donoghue commented: "When Rab asked the crowd, 'what do you think of our drummer?', the roof almost came off the place. Her family were there too so that made the night even more special."
The band announced that their new album is to be titled EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\ back in January. The record is due to be released April 4.
