Kate Alexa has decided to make a music industry comeback.
The 23-year-old Australian singer, who shot to fame in 2004 when her song 'Always There' was used on Home and Away, has teamed up with UK songwriter Tom Nichols after spending two years writing material for her second album.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Nichols has previously worked with stars such as Kylie Minogue, All Saints, Sugababes, Tina Arena and Celine Dion.
Alexa said: "After the first album, I didn't know where I wanted to go so I experimented with everything. I still wanted to be pop but everyone wants an edge to what they do. I love No Doubt and Sublime so we put a bit of ska into some of the songs."
The musician's second album is scheduled for release in the next two months, along with single 'Infatuation'.
Alexa's father is music promoter and record label boss Michael Gudinski.
