The musician will join a bill including Beady Eye, Graham Coxon and Primal Scream for a benefit show on April 3 at O2 Academy Brixton in London.
Weller told The Sun: "I really wanted to do something to show solidarity and sympathy with the Japanese people.
"Japan is a place I've been to many times in the last 30 years. I've made many friends there and have been treated very well. They are a kind race. My heart goes out to them."
Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, March 25 at 9am. All proceeds will go to the British Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal.
Experimental jazz musician John Zorn has also organised a series of benefit shows in New York, featuring performers including Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson and Yoko Ono.
