The singer-songwriter's self-titled debut was released last summer and featured the singles 'Pack Up' and 'Rollerblades'.
Asked about her plans for the follow-up, Doolittle told M is for Music: "I'm always writing, my phone is full of ideas - melodies and lyrics and stuff.
"I'm constantly putting things down but it's just about getting in the studio and getting actual full songs done and I'm really excited to get back in properly and do that.
"I'm going in the studio next week actually and I'm gonna be doing stuff. I dunno if it's gonna be for the next album or an EP, maybe something in between this album and the next album."
Of previous comments about wanting to be an old-school pop musician, she explained: "When The Beatles and Ray Charles were in the same charts together and that was just called pop music - it wasn't called soul or rock.
"The best pop music just stands out as something that's just original and I think it should all be called pop again."
Doolittle recently admitted that, while she is happy to model to raise her profile, she is not interested in acting.
