The track had been created with the help of her fans via the internet.
Heap started the recording process on March 14 by requesting sound 'seeds' from her fans online. These would be sound clips such as leaves rustling and cats meowing and would come from all different parts of the world.
Each day, Heap would post parts of the song online and ask for feedback and ideas, until March 21, when she finished up the track and prepared to shoot a video for it.
Throughout its online progress the working title was #heapsong1, but the singer-songwriter has now revealed that its official title is 'Lifelines'.
The 'Headlock' star is to repeat the process every three months over a period of three years, before releasing all of the tracks as part of her next album.
Last year, Heap revealed that she was struggling to break even on tour.
Maroon 5 recently completed a similar recording process, managing to create a song using fan suggestions in just 24 hours.
