Avril Lavigne: 'New record not about break-up'

The singer released Goodbye Lullaby in March, and said that the songs featured on the album deal with much more than just the end of her marriage.
"I wouldn't say it's a break-up record, it's about life," Lavigne told Rolling Stone. "I went into it with a mindset of not trying to write hits.
"People will make assumptions, but they'd be surprised what certain songs are about."
Lavigne also said that she originally went to record label RCA with an album full of introspective acoustic songs, but was eventually forced to include a selection of more upbeat tracks.
The singer recently described Goodbye Lullabye as more emotional and raw than her previous releases.
