Lissack revealed that the band intend to embark on a "proper" comeback in September, but asserted that they have no plans to play any live shows before the end of 2011.
"Kele [Okereke] and I started working on Bloc Party stuff," he told NME. "We're having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we're going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material."
Speculation that Bloc Party were to regroup this year intensified last month following Lissack's departure from Ash as a guest guitarist.
The group also took part in a band photo at Christmas, which they tweeted to fans.
