According to Rolling Stone, the musical would also feature songs from the band's other albums, including The Soft Bulletin and At War With the Mystics.
Singer Wayne Coyne is collaborating with the co-creator of The Who's Tommy musical for the project, which he dubbed "hokey and wonderful and poignant and powerful", reports Rolling Stone.
The band recently unveiled a new song titled 'Is David Bowie Dying?'.
The rockers will join British Sea Power for a live show at the Jodrell Bank observatory on July 2.
