TMZ reports that representatives for the 'Find Your Love' star said that Drake had been unaware that performances were being promoted at the Sherman Theatre in Strousburg and had not agreed to appear at the shows.
The rapper was said to be "shocked" by the turn of events, after it transpired that someone posing as his manager had contacted the venue.
A representative for Drake said: "Drake is currently working on his second album and not touring at this time."
People who have purchased tickets for the gigs have been told that they will receive a refund, and the police are now investigating the incident.
