The 'Rolling In The Deep' songstress's second album 21 is still at the top of the chart in the midweeks, despite a new release from fellow Brit School alum Katy B.
The feat would mean that she would become the first artist in over 15 years to remain in pole position for more than ten consecutive weeks.
The singer-songwriter could even break a record set by Bob Marley in 1984, when his Legend LP remained at number one for 12 consecutive weeks, if she manages to maintain a lead in next week's chart.
21 has shifted over 1.5 million copies in the UK alone, becoming the best-selling album of 2011 so far. The success of her sophomore effort has reignited interest in her debut 19, which trails 21 as the second best-selling LP of 2011, pushing Rihanna's Loud down to third position.
Adele currently matches a 25-year-old record set by Dire Straits.
