Gloria Estefan collaborates with Pharrell on LP

Gloria Estefan has announced that she is working with Pharrell Williams on her new album.

The singer, who made a surprise appearance at today's X Factor auditions in Miami, took to Twitter to announce the collaboration.

"I can't tell u how much I've enjoyed working with @NeRdArMy! [Pharrell]," Estefan tweeted.

She added: "It's truly been a magical experience and a wonderfully natural process."

The star earlier tweeted: "Hey everybody! YAY! Last night @NeRdArMy and I finished the last song for the album. CAN'T WAIT 4 u 2 hear it!"

Estefan previously told fans that her new record would be "mostly English but bilingual in interesting ways".

Earlier this month, Estefan led a rally in Miami to protest against alleged abuses by the Cuban government.
