The singer was asked by one of her Twitter followers if she has any plans to play live in the near future.
"Hoping to tour in 2012 with new music," she confirmed in response.
Sinatra's last new studio album was 2004's Nancy Sinatra. It was released through Attack, the former Trojan Records imprint revived by Morrissey and Sanctuary Records in 2003.
Asked by another Twitter follower how Morrissey is doing these days, Sinatra said: "I wish I knew. Where are you Moz?"
The daughter of singer/actor Frank Sinatra, Nancy is best known for the singles 'These Boots Were Made For Walking', 'Somethin' Stupid' , 'You Only Live Twice' and 'Some Velvet Morning'. In 2009, she released compilation disc Cherry Smiles: The Rare Singles.
Her vocals on Cher cover 'Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)' were sampled by Audio Bullys for their 2005 hit 'Shot You Down'.
Sinatra is a frequent user of Twitter and follows nearly 23,000 people on the social networking website.
