It will be the first album since their departure from former record label EMI in November.
Gregory has recently finished working on his debut opera and has insisted that it's now time to focus on the next album.
"I am ready to do it now - to get back to Goldfrapp will be a very refreshing change," Gregory told BBC 6 Music.
"We have, as usual, lots of stuff in the bottom drawer which we rejected the first time round, but I expect we'll want to start a fresh this time round."
When asked what direction he and colleague Alison Goldfrapp will take with the next LP, he responded: "We have tried sitting down and writing lists and having coffee to talk about it, but usually we just mess about. It's good not to be too conscious about what you do."
