No truth in T In The Park cancellation story
Published Saturday, Apr 8 2006, 15:47 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
T In The Park organisers have denied rumours that the event will be cancelled due to the threat of bird flu.
Ticket-holders apparently "panicked" following reports claiming that the festival was under threat.
A spokeswoman told the Daily Record, "As avian influenza is a disease of birds and not humans, we can confirm that there is no threat of T In The Park being cancelled or moved.
"Any safety measures being put in place by the Scottish Executive related to avian influenza are designed to limit movement of birds and not people in accordance with the EC agreed measures. However, we are closely monitoring the situation."
The event will feature performances from Franz Ferdinand, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who.
