The classic "rock opera" track topped a list of 500 songs that were voted for by Armed Forces members and was compiled by army radio station BFBS, reports The Guardian.
"It's fantastic… it makes me feel very, very proud. I'd like to wish all the forces the very best - and especially to those who voted for 'Bohemian Rhapsody' - from the very bottom of our hearts," explained Queen drummer Roger Taylor.
Snow Patrol's 'Chasing Cars' took the runner-up prize, while Kings of Leon's 'Sex on Fire', Oasis' 'Wonderwall' and Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' all bagged top ten positions.
Queen recently released remastered versions of their first five albums.
