Radio listeners have chosen ex-Sham 69 frontman Jimmy Pursey to make an alternative World Cup tune.
Virgin Radio held a competition and phone vote to pick an artist to record a challenger to Embrace's official England song.
Pursey, who sang for the punk band, was chosen nearly unanimously to re-record his old band's 1978 hit Hurry Up Harry. It will be renamed Hurry Up England.
Host on the station Christian O'Connell predicted the new song would prove popular. He commented: "Unlike other football songs, this will truly be a single made by the fans, for the fans."
Profits from the single will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
