The London-based band have been recognised for their track 'This Ain't A Love Song' and will face competition from Kylie Minogue and Plan B for the 'Most Performed Work' accolade at this year's ceremony, which is due to take place on May 19.
"Songwriting is my whole life. I love it and I feel very lucky to be nominated for doing something that I love," Stride told the Daily Star.
"I am incredibly proud and honoured to be part of the Ivor Novello nominations - it is a childhood dream come true."
Fellow Ivor Novello nominee Tinie Tempah has previously revealed that he would like to collaborate with Scouting for Girls.
