The 'Love The Way You Lie' rapper was announced as a headliner for the event on Tuesday alongside Coldplay, Muse and the Foo Fighters.
"He's always put together great productions for his shows, and this is something that we look for at Lollapalooza - not just to go out there and perform, but to really give a show," the Lollapalooza founder and Jane's Addiction frontman told MTV News of his expectations for Eminem's act.
He went on to confess his excitement at a new dance area named after himself where attendees will be able to "hang out" while watching some of their favourite acts perform.
"I'd say the biggest evolution, shall we say, in Grant Park this year is going to be the 'Perry's Area'... It's the dance tent, and it will house 15,000 people," he explained.
"So 15,000 fist-pumping people in a lounge there to see people like Steve Angello and Joachim Garraud - that's a place you're going to want to hang out throughout the weekend."
Lollapalooza will be held from August 5 to August 7 with tickets currently on sale.
