NME reports that the 'Kiss that Grrrl' singer started Have 10p Records as an extension of her previously established performing arts trust fund.
"I suddenly had some extra money and I wanted to give something back to the arts," she explained to the publication. "I always felt very passionate about it, so I set up a trust fund to promote the arts."
Nash went on to reveal that Have 10p has already signed its first artist in singer Brigitte Aphrodite, who inspired her to start up the label. She added: "I started watching Brigitte Aphrodite, who's a really amazing musician.
"So I asked my accountant, 'If I rolled the trust fund into a record label, would that work?' And he said, 'Yeah'. So I did it. Have 10p Records was the result, and we've just put out Brigitte's first single."
Nash recently revealed plans for a national songwriting scheme to encourage schoolgirls to write songs. She has previously expressed disappointment in the dominance of male writers in the music industry.
