Jedward star 'confined to a wheelchair'

John Grimes has reportedly been confined to a wheelchair after damaging his ankle ligaments.

The singer, one half of X Factor twins Jedward, injured himself while dancing and has been advised by doctors to stay off his feet, The Sun reports.

However, the pair are apparently so busy with gig bookings that John has had to carry on performing on stage while in a wheelchair.

John and Edward are representing Ireland at this year's Eurovision song contest with their song 'Lipstick'. They are due to compete at the second semi-final on May 12 to secure a place in the final.

The pair's plan to have tigers on stage during their performance was recently scrapped by event organisers.
