The 'Someone Like You' songtress has managed to shift a further 124,000 copies of her multi-million selling sophomore album 21, reports Billboard.
It's only the fifth album by a solo female artist to achieve the feat in the last ten years, with Taylor Swift's Fearless and Speak Now spending 11 and six weeks respectively, while Norah Jones's Feels Like Home and fellow Brit Susan Boyle's I Dreamed A Dream also both spent six weeks at the summit.
In the UK Adele is currently on course to lead the album chart for a 14th week after topping the UK album songwriters list for the first quarter of 2011.
Adele will celebrate her 23rd birthday today by performing a rendition of R. Kelly's 'Ignition' at her karaoke party.
