The singer, who is due to unveil her new single 'Beat of My Drum' later today, also said that she co-wrote the entire record - called Cinderella's Eyes - which draws on her life experience.
"The album has a very British sound, that was important to me," the Girls Aloud star said in a press release.
"I co-wrote all of the songs on the record. The stories I tell in the album are things that have happened to me and life in general. Some are happy, some songs are a little cheeky and one song is sad."
It has also been confirmed that Roberts has worked with Dimitri Tikovoi (Goldfrapp, The Horros), Metronomy and Canadian pop group Dragonette on the LP, which is due for release this Autumn.
