The ageing rockers asserted that they have a good couple of years in them yet and are determined to keep going past their 40th anniversary in 2013.
"I'll be celebrating by just being here. We could be dead, so to still be standing on a stage after 40 years is good enough for me," frontman Brian Johnson told the Daily Star.
Guitarist Angus Young added: "You don't want people to say, 'Those guys used to be great'. But on this tour, I had a few problems, mainly with the legs. On stage, though, you don't feel a thing."
Johnson then went on to explain that the band need to keep fit by training in the gym every other day in order to keep up with the physical demand a tour requires.
Speaking about a follow-up to their 2008 album Black Ice, Young revealed: "Me and Malcolm have begun trying a few things. Then we'll be back on stage again."
The band recently premiered their new concert film AC/DC Live At River Plate, which is released on DVD and Blu-ray today.
A judge overturned AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd's drug conviction last month.
