A handful of early arrivals set up camp outside Birmingham's NEC last weekend to make sure they manage to buy tickets, despite them not going on sale until this Sunday, reports The Sun.
"Camping out is all part of the experience," explained fan Alison Hadley.
Another Richard fanatic, Sally Rab, has also started queuing early with her husband George in the hope of getting front-row seats.
"I can't risk trying to get a ticket on the phone or online," she said.
The 70-year-old entertainer will perform eight dates later this year, starting in Nottingham on October 15 and finishing up in Newcastle on October 28.
Richard recently expressed a desire to collaborate with Lady GaGa and the remaining members of the Jackson 5.
