Miles Kane has admitted that he was against a proposed duet with Harry Potter star Clémence Poésy.

The Last Shadow Puppets co-frontman explained how he was angry when his label suggested the collaboration with Poésy, who plays Fleur Delacour in the wizard blockbusters, but came around when he realised she could sing.

"We were looking for a girl for my song 'Happenstance' then someone from the label met her at a party in Paris. He mentioned that I had a song and would she be up for doing it," Kane told the Daily Record.

"Then he got back to me and I asked him, 'What's an actress going to be able to do? She's not going to be able to sing'. I was like, 'What are you doing asking her you stupid pr**k?' Then she demoed the track and it sounded great so I got her over to the UK.

"We met for a coffee and a couple of weeks later we went into the studio and did it live and it was amazing. It really suits the tune. I had never heard of her. When I got told about her I went and checked her out in the film In Bruges. She's amazing and is going to do really well."

Kane recently distanced himself from speculation that he will feature on Noel Gallagher's upcoming album.

Miles Kane's newly-released album Colour of the Trap entered at number six of the UK midweek album chart.
