The rapper, who has sold a million copies of 'Written in the Stars' in the States, admitted that he often has to play to very small crowds.
"The American promo has been intense, because it's so huge," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "I've had to perform at places where just ten and 15 people turned up, which was a very humbling experience.
"They were into it though. Those are the kind of gigs you remember."
He added: "The new album is about a quarter of the way through. I'm going to really take my time with it and make sure it's perfect. I've been in the studio with Pharrell Williams and had songs sent over by The Script as well."
Tempah also revealed that he has been talking to Usher and is "pretty confident" that they will work on material together.
It was recently reported that he had delayed work on his second record to focus on cracking America.
