However, the 'Higher' star, who is widely known for his electro club anthems, insisted that he won't be making the changes anytime soon.
"I have ideas for a new sound but I won't go there yet because electro-pop is what the kids want to hear," Cruz told the Daily Star.
"However, I have plans to mess with dubstep and rock further down the line."
Cruz previously revealed that he is working on new material for Justin Bieber.
